2010 SPP Annual Scientific Colloquium

May 10-11, 2010 - Berlin, Germany

In summer 2010 the priority program "Megacities-Megachallenge. Informal Dynamics of Global Change" will be in the middle of it's second phase, literally having it's "halftime". This will be a good opportunity to look back at the achievements of three years of intense research and cooperation work, as well as to envision the directions and scientific ideas for the coming years.

Special foci will lie on the

• identification and discussion of trends and conception of scenarios of informal dynamics, especially regarding the interdependencies with different dimensions of global change processes,
• further integration of the findings in the two research areas of Dhaka/Bangladesh and Pearl River Delta/China,
• stronger integration on natural and human sciences in analyzing the dynamics and types of resource flows.

The workshop will feature keynote lectures of reknown experts in urbanization and global change research, presentations by program members, poster presentations about the single projects' progress as well as several output oriented working sessions on core issues of the research program.
